Yorkshire

Raised in the beautiful surroundings of the Aire Valley in Yorkshire.

Raised
with Love

We breed for soundness, temperament and type - with lots of love and TLC.

Top Breeder

We are Shandell Dogs, one of the top dog breeders in the country. We breed for soundness, temperament and type, and ensure that all the dogs we breed are as healthy as they possibly can be. All our dogs are raised and loved in our family home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, and just 30 minutes away from Leeds.

All our puppies are fully socialised and raised within the guidelines of the Kennel Club and are used to and comfortable with the liveliness of a family home.

We welcome any enquires, have an open-door policy for visitors, and are always happy to receive phone calls for any questions.

Kennel Club Registered

All of our parents are health tested and Kennel Club registered.

We breed for soundness, temperament, and type.

Our beautiful puppies are raised in our clean, loving, family home with lots of love and TLC.

They will be fully socialised and raised within the guidelines of the Kennel Club and therefore used to many household noises, handled many times throughout the day, used to meeting people and being played with.

Your puppy will be microchipped, flea’d, wormed, will have had their first vaccinations, and will be health checked by our vet.  Regular follow up visits to see your puppy grow and develop are very welcome where possible.

Your puppy will accompany you on the way home with a comprehensive puppy pack, which will include lots of advice on caring for your puppy; training, house training, feeding, grooming, crate training, obedience plus much more.

Your puppy pack will include a vaccination card, microchip certificate, 4 weeks free insurance and puppy food.

Shell and Andy

Michelle and Andy Beaumont have been involved with dogs all their lives. We started to get more seriously involved with dogs in 2008 when we got our first two Cocker Spaniels, Sassy and Bessie. This led to showing dogs for quite a few years, having various breeds. We have also been actively involved in running dog societies over the years at both committee and officer level.

Today, we concentrate on our breeding but still have all the morals and standards that we have always had. We still pride ourselves on breeding for soundness, temperament and type and make sure all the required health testing is done on our girls and of course the studs.

One of the things we feel is very important with the puppies is extended socialisation. As the puppies get older and start moving around more we spend a lot of time socialising them  with other older dogs and prospective owners so they are not fearful of people or other dogs when they leave us.

F.A.Q

The puppy should be 8 weeks old before leaving their mother, the last couple of weeks is very important for the puppies social development.

Yes, puppies should always be fully weaned before leaving for their new homes.

She should be over a year old, and never mated over 8 years old. Mums should never be mated on consecutive seasons, and we never have more than four litters from our girls.

Yes, all our puppies are fully wormed and flea’d up to date before leaving us. We also put advice about this in your puppy pack.

Yes, they will have had the first vaccinations about 7 weeks old. The second vaccination can not be given until puppy is 10 weeks old. We advise you on the vaccination given so you can arrange with your vet to order the same brand in ready for puppies second vaccination.

A vaccination card is provided in the puppy pack and signed by our vet.

A good breeder should always provide you with food the puppy is on before leaving. We give you a 3kg bag and the option of buying a 15kg bag of puppy food to take away with you. There is also a lot of advice about amounts to feed your puppy in the puppy pack.

Our puppies are raised in the home, and we pride ourselves of the extended socialisation we give them. It is very important to us that you take away a sound and level headed puppy. They will have socialised with some of our younger dogs and all our visitors are asked to handle them to build their confidence. Also, new owners are recommended to visit and handle their puppy to build a bond before leaving.

Yes, all our puppies are microchipped and registered with the database before leaving us.

Yes definitely, in fact we ask you to sign a contract before leaving, part of which states, that puppy must be returned to us should something happen and you are no longer able to give him/her a home.

We take our responsibility of homing our puppies very seriously, we want to know who has them, and we want to be able to select the owners.
